Famed Restaurateur's New Eatery In Jersey City Is Jumpin' With Special Sandwich
A new restaurant opened recently in the busy downtown area of Jersey City. Despite competition from several cafes, the joint's been packed.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — Danny Meyer, the New York City-based restaurateur, has been hamming it up in New Jersey.
His café chain, Daily Provisions, opened its first New Jersey location in downtown Jersey City last month, on a block filled with several new businesses, at 132 Bay St.
On a recent Sunday, the spacious location was filled with people dining on sandwiches, chicken dishes, and pastries at dozens of tables.

“We’re excited to have Jersey City as our first location outside of New York City," said a spokesperson for the new location last week. "As an all-day cafe, we believe Daily Provisions fits in well with the vibrant and tight-knit community of Jersey City, and it felt natural to expand there first."
They've also weighed in on the ongoing debate over whether to call New Jersey's special ham brand "pork roll" or Taylor Ham.

"Our exclusive taylor ham, egg and cheese sandwich represents how we’re working to honor the neighborhood by respecting one of North Jersey’s most important traditions.”
The sandwich incorporates another favorite at the chain, potatoes.
Daily Provisions is located next to Rumble boxing and a short walk from the Grove Street PATH station. Find out more here.
