Fire Sends Hudson County Man To Hospital; Arson Squad Investigating
A basement fire sent a Bayonne man to the hospital with serious injuries, prosecutors said.
BAYONNE, NJ — A basement fire that sent a man to the hospital with serious injuries is being investigated by the Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force and the Bayonne Fire Department, prosecutors said Tuesday.
Shortly after 5:20 p.m. on Monday, the Bayonne Fire Department received multiple reports of a fire at 167 West 9th St., said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
Police found a fire in the basement of the residential building. A 56-year-old man had serious injuries.

He was taken by Emergency Medical Services to Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center for treatment, where he remains in critical but
stable condition, prosecutors said.
The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
