WATCH: Jersey City Is The Hometown Of Marvel's Newest Hero Ms. Marvel

"It's not really the Brown girls from Jersey City who save the world — maybe now they do." Marvel dropped its latest trailer for Ms. Marvel.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — There's a new hero hitting Disney+ and the Marvel Universe, and she's representing Jersey City.

Marvel Studios dropped the first peak at Ms. Marvel the new show coming to Disney+ in late 2021. The show follows Kamala Khan, played by Iman Vellani, who is a Jersey City teen who realizes she has polymorphous powers. Soon, her powers lead her to all sorts of adventures and, of course, saving the world.

"It's not really the Brown girls from Jersey City who save the world," Khan says in the trailer, "Maybe now they do," responds her friend.

Kamala Khan is a Pakistani-American teen and was the first Muslim character to get her own Marvel comic book in 2014.

Jersey City has been vocal about its support for the series, blasting the trailer all over its social media.
