Jersey City Housing Affordability To Be Part Of Mayor-Elect Solomon's 100-Day Plan
Incoming Jersey City Mayor James Solomon has formed a committee to work on initiatives for the first 100 days.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Set to take office on Jan. 15, incoming Jersey City Mayor James Solomon announced a transition committee Wednesday that ultimately will include 100 people, he said.
"We’re not waiting until inauguration day to get to work,” said the mayor-elect, who currently serves as Ward E councilman, representing downtown.
The Transition Policy Committee includes nine policy committees, made up of community leaders, stakeholders, and experts, he said.

He said there will be two objectives:
- A "First 100 Days Plan" to identify initiatives that can produce quick results for residents, including public safety and housing affordability programs.
- A "First-Term Action Plan" to develop policy recommentations and a way of measuring their progress over time.
Solomon said the first meeing of the Transition Policy Committee would be Wednesday night.

Solomon also said he'll form Co-Governance Committee to find ways to involve the community in City Hall initiatives in the first 100 days.

Members range from Councilmember and former youth development foundation leader Frank Gilmore to historic preservation activist Colin Egan.
Solomon will be sworn in on Jan. 15 at 7 p.m.
