Jersey City Mayoral Runoff Election Guide: Who's Running, How To Vote

Former Gov. Jim McGreevey faces Councilman James Solomon to become the next mayor of Jersey City. Get voting details for Tuesday.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Jersey City Councilman James Solomon and former Gov. Jim McGreevey are facing off to be mayor of Jersey City in a runoff election Tuesday.

Seven candidates ran for mayor last month, but none drew more than 50 percent of the votes, prompting the runoff between the top two vote-getters.

The race is non-partisan.

The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and residents can vote by mail using the mailboxes or voter drop boxes until 8 p.m. as well.
