JERSEY CITY, NJ — On Oct. 1, the new span of the Wittpenn Bridge is set to open after years of anticipation.
The bridge cost almost $500 million to build and connects Jersey City and Kearny. It is named after the former Jersey City Mayor H. Otto Wittpenn. The bridge has been under construction for years and according to the Jersey Journal, has caused traffic headaches for municipalities on both sides of it.
