School Aide Threatened To 'Blow Up' NJ High School Over Parking Pass: Police
A school aide in North Jersey threatened to "blow up the school" over a dispute regarding a parking pass, police said.

BAYONNE, NJ — A school aide in a Hudson County high school was arrested Thursday in connection with a threat to "blow up the school" over a parking pass, police said.
Neamat Azer, described as an "assistant" in the schools, was arrested on Thursday morning for saying, "I'm going to blow up the school," according to police in Bayonne.
Police said that just before 9:30 a.m., they responded to Bayonne High School on Avenue A.

The investigation determined that Azer was involved in an argument with another employee regarding the issuing of a parking pass, police said.
Police said that at the end of the dispute, she uttered the threatening words, which were " heard by additional staff in the area."

The school initiated a shelter-in-place directive until the incident was resolved, police said.
Azer was charged with causing a false public alarm.
State records show she has been employed by the district since 2019.
In a letter to the school community Thursday, Superintendent John J. Niesz wrote, "A school assistant who is an employee of the district has been arrested today in connection with making an alleged threat to blow up the building this morning."
He wrote that Bayonne police and the security team "have done an excellent job quickly handling this incident." He said school counselors were available "to support any students who need assistance processing this information."
The Board of Education said in a statement, "The Bayonne Police Department and our security team responded swiftly. Student and staff safety remains our top priority."
School officials said that due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, no more information could be released.
