HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Positions on school boards in towns in New Jersey are unpaid, but you have the chance to influence young minds. You also help determine how educational resources and property taxes are allocated and spent.

For the towns in New Jersey who have school board elections this Nov. 5 — the same day as the General Election — the deadline to file the appropriate paperwork and signatures with your local county officials is this Monday, July 29, at 4 p.m.

One North Jersey town noted, "As of July 19, 2022, the ...county clerk will NOT be accepting electronic petitions. The acceptance of electronic petitions was dependent upon the continuing of the Public Health Emergency as initially declared by Governor Murphy by Executive Order 103."

In Hudson County
County Clerk E. Junior Maldonado says in a letter that 10 signatures of valid voters in your town are required to run for school board. They must be turned into the Hudson County clerk's office Monday, July 29 at 4 p.m.
The office is at 257 Cornelison Ave 4th floor, Jersey City, NJ 07302.
There will be drawings for ballot positions on Aug. 12 at 3 p.m.
