5-Vehicle Crash, Thousands Of Dollars Worth Of Merch Shoplifted: Lacey Police Blotter

LACEY, NJ — A five-vehicle crash was caused by a driver having a medical emergency, thousands of dollars worth of merchandise was shoplifted from various stores and more throughout the month of September, according to the Lacey police blotter.
Each month, Lacey police release their blotter, outlining the various incidents responded to.
"In addition to the below, officers from the Lacey Township Police Department handled thousands of calls, many of which are confidential in nature related to domestic violence, juvenile issues, and mental health calls," police said.

Location: 1208 Bullard Avenue
On Monday, September 1, 2025, Officer Christopher Triano and Officer Kevin Tranz responded to 1208 Bullard Avenue for a report of two individuals arguing in front of the property. Upon arrival, Officers heard Michael Kinsky inside the residence, who had an outstanding NCIC warrant for probation violation. Officers entered the residence and forced entry into Michael's bedroom, where he was arrested. Michael was transported directly to Ocean County Jail.

Incident: Vehicle Burglary
On Monday, September 1, 2025, at 14:59 hours, Officer Morrone responded to the 800 block of Oxgoose Drive for a report of a vehicle burglary. Upon arrival, Officer Morrone met with the victim, who reported that he discovered numerous items missing from his unsecured vehicle. The items include an extensive coin collection and a 65-inch television valued at approximately $200,000. Detective Lee and the Ocean County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded. The investigation is ongoing.
Incident: DWI-MVA
On Monday, September 1, 2025, at 17:35 hours, several Officers, including Officer Walsh, responded to Lacey Road and Lake Road for a report of a motorcyclist who crashed into the woods. Upon arrival, Officer Walsh met with Manchester Police and Manchester EMS, who were already treating the driver, 55-year-old Glen Greene of Clarksburg, NJ. Glen suddenly became unconscious and was quickly flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment. A search warrant was sought and obtained for the initial blood samples drawn at the hospital. Glen was charged with Unregistered Vehicle, Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane and Open Container.
Incident: DWI
On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at approximately 15:05 hours, Officers Tamburro, Nilon, and Sgt. Verwey responded to the Presbyterian Church on Game Farm Road for a report of a male near his vehicle that appeared to be under the influence. Contact was ultimately made with Kyle Comerford, age 24, of Forked River. Kyle was subsequently placed under arrest for DWI, handcuffed, and escorted over to patrol vehicle #13. During this time, Kyle broke free from Officer Tamburro and took off running south on Route 9. Kyle was later apprehended and taken to headquarters. Kyle was ultimately charged with numerous offenses, including, but not limited to, DWI, Reckless, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Assault, Escape, CDS Possession/Under the Influence, and Drug Distribution. Kyle was transported to Ocean County Jail.
Incident: Theft
On Monday, September 08, at 12:33 hours, Officer Zacco responded to JH Roberts for a report of a theft. Upon arrival, Officer Zacco met with the owner, who indicated that two subjects had been stealing scrap copper from a dumpster on the property. Two separate thefts occurred on Wednesday, September 03, at 0312 hours and Friday, September 05, at 0112 hours. The total value of the theft is approximately $3,000.00. Officer Zacco retrieved surveillance video that depicts a late-model Jeep Compass with what appears to be two unknown male suspects. The investigation remains open.
Incident: Warrant Service
On Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 1618 hours, multiple officers, including Officer Meyh, responded to 807 Hazelton Avenue at the request of Detective Lee. Detective Lee prepared a complaint Warrant charging Matthew Brennan with Failure to Change Address, as required by Megan's Law. Officer Meyh placed Matthew under arrest, processed him, and transported him to Ocean County Jail.
Incident: Dogs at large
On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 0838 hours, Officers Schaffer and Ravallo responded to the area of Earie Way and Circle Drive for two dogs running at large. The officers were able to identify the dogs, two Siberian Huskies from a previous interaction, as belonging to Jessica Hinman, age 36, of 1270 Parker Street, and Jessica Hinman, who eventually responded to the scene. Jessica was issued two summonses for Owners Responsible for Control of Dogs.
Incident: Shoplifting
On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 11:32 hours, Officer McKee responded to TJ Maxx for a report of an adult male shoplifter who fled the store in a white Jeep which was later determined to be registered to Roland Avenue, Bayville. Berkeley PD was contacted and located the driver, later identified as Carmelo Fazzolari, age 56. The stolen items, valued at $53.98, were located in the car, and Carmelo was placed under arrest, transported to headquarters, fingerprinted, and photographed. Carmelo was charged with Shoplifting, on a summons, and released without incident.
Incident: Burglary, Theft
On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 11:22 hours, Officer Plis responded to Wawa, 701 Route 9 North, for a report of a shoplifter who stole cigarettes. Surveillance video depicts an unidentified male entering the store, going behind the counter, and stealing a pack of cigarettes valued at $12.00. The male entered a vehicle and left the area. Officer Plis was able to identify the suspect as Brandon Orozco, a 38-year-old resident of Bayville. On Monday, September 22, 2025, Officer Plis prepared a warrant charging Brandon Orozco, age 38, Bayville, with Burglary and Shoplifting. Officers Schaffer and Plis responded to Brandon's residence, where they placed him under arrest. Brandon was transported to headquarters, where he was processed before being transported to Ocean County Jail, without incident.
Incident: Fencing
On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 1331 hours, Officer Carver responded to Fast Cash for a report of stolen equipment. Officer Carver located one dehumidifier and one air scrubber, valued at $399 each, for a total of $798, which were stolen from ServePro, Freehold. Officer Carver identified the seller as Maria Santos Gonzalez, age 31, of South Toms River, and she was subsequently charged with fencing and released on a summons.
Incident: Shoplifting
On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 1709 hours, Officers Ravallo and McKee responded to Walmart for a report of a male shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, the officers met with Asset Protection, who indicated that Nicholas Ferrao, age 26, of Toms River, walked out of the store with a camouflage hat valued at $7.98. Asset Protection indicated that Nicolas has been caught shoplifting repeatedly and requested that he be charged. As a result, Nicolas was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters, where he was charged with shoplifting on a complaint warrant and subsequently transported to the Ocean County Jail without incident.
Incident: MVA- DWI
On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 21:16 hours, Officers Tirella and D'Antonio responded to 616 Wilbert Ave for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, Officers met with the driver, Kathleen Tigue, 61, of Forked River, who was operating a 2006 Scion XA when she struck a parked vehicle. During the investigation, Officers noted that Kathleen displayed signs of alcohol impairment and she was subsequently placed under arrest. The vehicle was impounded by Priced Rite Towing and Kathleen was issued summonses for DWI and Reckless Driving.
Incident: MV Stop, Warrant Arrest
On Thursday, September 18th, 2025, at 16:19 hours, Officer Spina was traveling on Beach Boulevard when he conducted a motor vehicle stop of Oana Brudasco, age 39, for Forked River, who was driving a 2008 Toyota Rav4. Oana was found to have multiple warrants for her arrest and was transported to Ocean County Jail without incident.
Incident: MVA
On Monday, September 22, 2025, at 09:50 hours, multiple officers responded to the Home Depot for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving five vehicles. Upon arrival, the officers met with the driver, who was operating a black 2008 Ford F150 and experiencing a medical emergency. Surveillance footage showed the F150 heading into the Home Depot Plaza from Route 9, where the vehicle ran off the roadway, hopped a curb, and struck a parked vehicle in the Home Depot parking lot. The F150 continued to hit two more vehicles in the parking lot while the first vehicle struck was propelled from the collision, striking another parked vehicle. No injuries were reported, and the driver was transported to CMC due to the medical emergency.
Incident: Criminal Mischief
On Monday, September 22, 2025, at 10:01 hours, Officer Ricciardella responded to 205 William Street for a report of a broken window. Upon arrival, Officer Ricciardella spoke with the caller and the victim, who reported that they had discovered their car window, valued at approximately $400, had been shattered that morning. Officer Ricciardella identified a suspect, and complaints are pending.
Incident: Warrant Arrest
On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 13:52 hours, multiple officers responded to the area of Sea Bright Road and Middle Branch Drive for a report of a suspicious male. Upon arrival, the male had fled the area. Officers saturated the area and located the male, later identified as Thomas Carrano, age 33, in Clune Park. It was discovered that Thomas had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest, including a no-bail NCIC warrant issued by Ocean County. Thomas was placed under arrest and transported to Ocean County Jail without incident. While processing Thomas, a stolen wallet was located in his possession. The owner of he wallet had located video footage of Thomas Carrano entering his vehicle, a white 2016 Dodge Ram 2500, at 2232 hours on September 22, and stealing the wallet. As a result, Officer Zacco responded and reviewed the surveillance video, confirming the burglary and theft As a result, Officer Zacoo prepared a complaint warrant charging Thomas Carrano, age 33, of Forked River, with Theft, Burglary, Theft by Deception, and three Credit Card offenses.
Incident: Road Rage - Weapons and CDS Possession
On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 1845 hours, multiple officers, including Officer Biel, responded to the parking lot of Aldi's, 300 Route 9 North, for a report of a road rage incident involving a male pulling a knife. Upon arrival, officers met with John Mehn, age 46, of Bayville, who reportedly exited his truck and brandished a knife after a road rage incident. It was reported that John made a statement, leaving the victims to believe that he would slash their tires. John was ultimately placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Prohibited Weapon (Switchblade Knife), Possession of CDS (Cocaine), and CDS Paraphernalia. John was processed and released on a summons.
Incident: Shoplifting
On Friday, September 26, 2025, at 1405 hours, several officers, including Officer Tranz, responded to Kohl's for a report of a fleeing shoplifter. Loss Prevention provided a description, and a license plate was given. Officers located the vehicle heading west on Lacey Road towards the parkway, and a motor vehicle stop was executed on Newark Avenue. The driver, Ruben Munozzapata, age 29 of Bound Brook, was contacted and matched the description of the wanted subject. The subject admitted to the theft, explaining that the stolen contents were inside his vehicle. During the motor vehicle stop, Kohl's Loss Prevention also confirmed that Ruben had just shoplifted at the Kohl's in Toms River, and the merchandise in question was also visible in his vehicle. A search was conducted, and several thousand dollars' worth of clothing was recovered. Ruben was ultimately placed under arrest for shoplifting and transported to Ocean County Jail, and his vehicle was impounded.
Incident: Shoplifting
On Friday, September 26, 2025, at approximately 17:54 hours, Officers Cassidy Meyh #133 and Nicole Tamburro #123 responded to Kohl's regarding a shoplifting incident that occurred on Thursday, September 25. Three females reportedly entered the fragrance section, concealed various Sephora perfume containers valued at $1,795, and then exited the store, fleeing the area in a white SUV, possibly a Nissan. Officer Meyh obtained video surveillance of the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
Incident: Warrant Arrest
On Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 20:38 hours, Officer Meyh made contract with Michael Micallef, age 31, of Brick, who was found to have an outstanding NCIC warrant. Officer Meyh placed Michael under arrest, transported him to headquarters, where he was processed before he was ultimately transported to Ocean County Jail.
Incident: Dog Bites
On Sunday, September 28, 2025, Officers Hutman and Nilon responded to the area of Lee Way and Sylvania Place for a report of four dogs at large that had attacked another dog. During the investigation, it was discovered that two dogs had been bitten, and one was severely injured by one of the four dogs at large. Officer Hutman and Officer Nilon identified the owner of the dogs as Jessica Hinman, 36, of Forked River. After the dogs were located and secured, Jessica was issued summonses for Dogs at Large, Owner Responsible for Control of Dogs, and Unlicensed Dogs on a special complaint. Jessica was also charged with Dogs Declared Potentially Hazardous on a complaint summons.
