Aug. 21: Children's Book Drive, Art Party, Financial Seminar

1. The United Through Reading Military Program Children’s Book Drive is ongoing at on Route 9. Donate new children’s books that will be sent over to deployed service men and women who will read the book aloud while being recorded on DVD. The DVD and the book will then be sent to their children. Blue Moon Books is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

2. There’s an art party with LBI artists and crafters at Bayview Park in Brant Beach at 11 a.m.

3. The Sound of Music is playing at the Surflight Theater at 2 and 8 p.m.

4. A seminar on health benefits of culinary herbs and spices will be held at 1520 Silverton Road in Toms River at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $10.
