Calls Seeking PBA Donations Are Scams, Lacey Police Say

If you get a call claiming to be from the Lacey Township PBA soliciting donations, you should ignore it, police said.

LACEY, NJ — If you get a call claiming to be the Lacey Township PBA seeking donations, you should just hang up, officials said.

"Please know that both the New Jersey State PBA and Lacey Twp. PBA Local #238 will never solicit donations over the telephone," the PBA said in a statement on Facebook.

Residents have recently reported receiving calls claiming to be from the PBA and asking for donations. But these are scams, according to the PBA.

"If you receive a call of this nature you are talking to a paid telemarketer," the PBA said.

Any calls that solicit a donation of any kind to the police department, local PBA or police officer's union should be ignored, police said.
