Fundraiser, Services Announced For Slain Pinewald Firefighter, Lacey Man

The GoFundMe was created to support the family of the late Tyler Webb, who was killed in an apparent double-homicide.

BERKELEY, NJ — A GoFundMe has been launched following the death of Lacey resident and Pinewald firefighter Tyler Webb. Services have also been announced.

Webb, along with his girlfriend Lauren Semanchik, were killed this past weekend by Semanchik's ex-boyfriend Ricardo Jorge Santos, a sergeant first class of the New Jersey State Police, this past weekend, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée Robeson announced. Webb was a beloved member of the Ocean County community, wearing many hats in the Pinewald Pioneer Fire Company, volunteering with the NJ State Forest Fire Service and serving as a mechanic for Berkeley Township.

"Tyler wasn’t just the township mechanic — he was our mechanic," the Berkeley Township PBA said. "He took pride in making sure our patrol vehicles were safe, reliable, and ready for anything. But more than that, he cared about the people behind the wheel. Tyler would go out of his way to help any one of us, and his commitment never went unnoticed." The fundraiser was launched to support Webb's family. As of Tuesday afternoon, it has raised more than $2,000 with a $10,000 goal. Another GoFundMe and memorial have been created in honor of Semanchik.

"Please keep Tyler's family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time," the GoFundMe reads. "Tyler was cornered by Mother Lisa Webb, Father Jimmy Webb, Sister Angela Webb, Niece Amberly, and beloved Chocolate Lab Luna."

Webb's visitation will be held Aug. 11 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Mastapeter Memorial Home (270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville). A Fireman's Service will be held at 6 p.m.
