Gille Park Skate Park Nights Return, Starting On April 6
The popular "Friday Night Lights" event will be held into the fall, police chief says.

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - It's a sure sign that warmer weather is on the way. Gille Skate Park nights are back, starting on Friday, April 6.
"I am very happy to announce that the Gille Park Skate Park Evening Events, also known as "Friday Night Lights" are making a return, beginning Friday, April 6, 2018, at 6 p.m.," Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.
The popular event began every other Friday night in August 2016 and has continued every spring, summer and fall. The police department partners with the township recreation department, the Lacey Municipal Alliance and the Lacey Municipal Police Foundation to hold the events.

The skate park will be open from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. A live DJ will be on hand starting at 7 p.m. The lighting is provided by the police department, with help from local fire departments. The Lacey Township EMS and Lanoka Harbor EMS will also be on the scene, the chief said.
The April 6 event will also feature a include a mobile gaming trailer provided by "Party Crashers" from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Age appropriate games will be available for the kids. The "Party Crashers" mobile gaming trailer has been at prior Gille Park Skate Park evening events, prior Lacey Day events, as well as numerous other events throughout Ocean County. The mobile gaming trailer is sponsored by the Lacey Municipal Police Foundation and the Lacey Municipal Alliance.

The skate park is solely for the use of skateboards, scooters, and in-line skates. Bicycles are not permitted. All users must wear a helmet in the skate park at all times, and follow all of the posted skate park rules. Bottled water is permitted in the park.
Additional 2018 skate park evening events will be held on April 20, May 4, May 18, June 1t, Sept. 7, Sept. 21, Oct. 5, Oct. 19, and Nov. 2, 2018. Additional dates may be announced.
