Gille Park Skate Park Opens Next Week For Summer And Fall

Skate Park events will be held on Wednesday nights, police chief says

Good news for skateboarders, in-line skaters and scooter users!

Lacey Police Chief Michael C. DiBella and the township Recreation Department are reopening the Gille Park skate park for special events, starting on April 12, 2017.

The skate park will be open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays, with a live DJ playing music, DiBella said.

"Lighting will be provided by the Lacey Township Police Department with assistance from both the Forked River and Lanoka Harbor Fire Departments. First Aid Squads from Lacey EMS and Lanoka Harbor EMS will be on the scene," the chief said.

The skate park is specifically for the use of skateboards, scooters, and in-line skates. Bicycles are not permitted. All users must wear a helmet in the skate park at all times, and follow all of the posted skate park rules. Bottled water will be permitted in the park, the chief said.

Additional evening skate park events will be held on Friday, May 5, Friday, May 19, Friday, June 2and Friday, June 30 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. (DJ will be playing music starting at 7:00 p.m.). Additional dates may be announced.

Additional skate park events will be posted for the fall of 2017.
