LACEY, NJ — Do you have leftover pumpkins still sitting around? Instead of tossing them or leaving them to rot, you can bring them to some local animals.

The Popcorn Park Zoo announced that they are taking leftover pumpkins, as long as they are uncarved and unpainted.

Pumpkins "make fantastic playthings and tasty treats for the majority of the animals here," zoo officials said.

Got carved pumpkins to get rid of? Old jack-o'-lanterns can be composted, or you can leave them out in your yard for all of your local critters to enjoy. Just cut them into small pieces so squirrels, deer, foxes and more can enjoy them.
