Want a safer way to get candy? Several trunk-or-treats are held in the area. Head to Faith Community Church (527 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville) on Oct. 22 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., TAB Transmissions (699 Challenger Way, Forked River) on Oct. 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Lacey Township High School (73 Haines St., Lanoka Harbor) on Oct. 26 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., or the Waterfront (361 E. Lacey Rd., Forked River) on Oct. 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Maybe a haunted walkthrough is more your style. Each Friday and Saturday, Trailside Gardens in Waretown (112 Wells Mills Rd.) is hosting "Terror at Trailside" for $10 per person. Bayville's H&M Potter School (60 Veeder Ln.) is hosting their annual "Terror in the Halls" on Oct. 21 and 22.
