LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Lacey Township and Barnegat have made the top 200 safest schools list in New Jersey, according to Niche.com
Lacey came in at number 170, followed closely by Barnegat at 171, the Niche rankings found.
Niche.com ranked the districts for the steps they've taken to make students safer.

At least seven threats have taken place at New Jersey schools over the past week. And students and educators are on edge following the school shooting tragedy that left 17 dead in Florida.
Some of the factors considered in evaluating a school district include in-school suspensions, out-of-school suspensions, expulsions, law enforcement referals school-related arrests, and parent and student surveys.
