LACEY, NJ — Want to understand more about energy aggregation? Lacey residents have been invited to a virtual session on Aug. 11.

In recent years, seven towns in New Jersey have been changing the way they buy electricity via energy aggregation, which allows residents to join a single buying pool and leverage their purchasing power.

Officials recently awarded a contract for the third round of the Lacey Community Energy Aggregation program.

The township’s contract with Energy Harbor will offer residents another opportunity to save money on their electric bills, according to officials.

Residents who don't want to participate are able to opt out of the program.

Lacey officials recently gave an update on the LCEA electricity aggregation program, offering some background information about the effort and and how it could impact residents' utility bills.

During the information session on Wednesday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m., the township’s energy consultant, Gabel Associates, will give a presentation and then field questions from residents.
