Lacey Police Arrest Toms River Man And Woman On Drug Charges
Police made the arrests after responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the old TD Bank parking lot.

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - When Lacey Officer Jason Lee decided to check on a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the former TD bank at Route 9 and Beach Boulevard on July 10 , his instincts were right.
When Lee spoke with the driver at 9:30 p.m. he discovered that the driver, Dale R. Dexter, 44, River Drive, had a suspended license. He also found that Dexter had a hypodermic syringe and possession of drug paraphernalia, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.
He also arrested passenger Deanna F. Batelli, 28, Grantwood Drive and charged her with possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both suspects were taken to police headquarters. Dexter was also charged with driving while on the suspended list, the chief said.

Dexter was transported to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River to wait for a bail hearing. Batelli was released on a criminal summons, the chief said.
