Lacey Police Charge Forked River Man With Drunk Driving

Lacey police have charged a Forked River man with drunk driving after he was found slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle of the Walmart parking lot on Route 9, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

Officer Scott Keefe responded to the parking lot on Route 9 North at 5:33 a.m. on Sept. 5. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Keith A. Bernier, 35, East Lacey Road for driving under the influence.

He was taken to police headquarters, where he was also charged with refusal to submit breath samples and reckless driving, DiBella said.

His vehicle was impounded pursuant to John's Law.
