Lacey Police Charge Forked River Man With Drunk Driving After Crash

Randall H. Murphy, 36, was also charged with leaving the scene of an accident, police chief says.

Lacey police recently arrested a Daytona Road man and charged him with drunk driving after he struck a fire hydrant in the area Daytona Road and Beach Boulevard, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

Officer Jason Lee responded to the area at 1:01 a.m. report of a vehicle that hit a fire hydrant, then left the scene.

An investigation led to the arrest of the driver, Randall H. Murphy, 36, Daytona Road, Forked River for driving under the influence. He was taken to police headquarters, where he was also charged with refusal to provide breath samples, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, failure to maintain lane and failure to stop or yield, DiBella said.

His vehicle was impounded pursuant to John's Law, the chief said.
