Lacey Police Investigating Theft Of Jewelry From Hillside Place Home

Another burglary occurred on the 900 block of Montauk Drive

Lacey police are looking for whoever broke into a home on the 1700 block of Hillside Place in Forked River and stole an unknown amount of jewelry, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

Officer Michael Verwey responded to the house at 4:26 p.m. on Sept. 51, on a report of a residential burglary. The victim told police that sometime between Wednesday, Aug. 30 and Tuesday, Sept. 5, someone pried open a back window of the home and took the jewelry, the chief said.

The burglary is under investigation by the Lacey Township Detective Bureau.

Police are also investigating a burglary in the 900 block of Montauk Drive. Officer Noah Schaffer responded to the address at 7:57 a.m. on Sept. 5. The victim, who is employed as a contractor at the residence, reported that between 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017, and 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, an unknown person or persons entered the garage portion of the residence and stole a red Harbor Freight jack hammer valued at $500. No signs of forced entry were found, DiBella said.
