Lacey Police Investigating Vehicle Window Smashing Incident

Two incidents of criminal mischief to vehicles were reported over the past week, police chief says.

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Lacey police are investigating two separate incidents of criminal mischief involving damage to parked vehicles, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

Officer John McKee responded to the 400 block of Lacey Road in Forked River at 3:34 p.m. on Sept. 19. The victim told him that sometime between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sept. 19, someone smashed the driver side window and the top window of the vehicle. The vehicle was parked on the east side of the parking lot, the chief said.

The damage was estimated at $400. No property appeared to have been stolen, he said.

Officer Alan Abrech responded to the second incident at 11:11 a.m. on Sept. 15, to the 800 block of Alpine Street in Forked River. The victim told him that someone scratched the driver's side doors and the hood of her rental vehicle, sometime between 1 a.m and 10:30 a.m. that Saturday morning, DiBella said.
