Lacey Police Stop Bayville Woman For Distracted Driving

Lourdes Canela, 40, was charged with using her cell phone while driving, Lacey police chief says

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Lacey police recently charged a Bayville woman with using her cell phone while she was driving, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

Officer Tyler Walsh stopped Lourdes Canela, 40, Station Road at the corner of Route 9 and Oak Street at 10:13 a.m. on April 10 for distracted driving. He found that she was driving the suspended list, the chief said.

Canela also had two outstanding $500 warrants, one from Lacey and one from Lakehurst. She was taken to police headquarters, where she was also charged with using a cell phone while driving, DiBella said.

She posted bail and was released on her own recognizance, the chief said.
