Lacey Police Urge Residents To Lock Up Vehicles
Lacey police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles as car thefts and burglaries continue across Ocean County.
LACEY, NJ — The Lacey Township Police Department is urging residents to ensure that their vehicles are locked when not occupied, especially during the overnight hours.
A rise in motor vehicle thefts and burglaries has been reported throughout the state, according to Lacey police.
Most of the stolen vehicles were left unlocked with the keys or key fobs inside.

“Please ensure you do not leave your car keys/key fobs inside of your vehicle. Valuables should not be left inside your vehicles, or they should not be visible to the public,” Lacey police said in a social media post Tuesday.
Multiple thefts have targeted Ocean County, including coastal communities like Toms River, Barnegat and Stafford townships.

A stolen vehicle from Barnegat was reportedly used in two robberies in Atlantic County earlier this week, according to Egg Harbor Township police.
