Lacey Residents Can Park Vehicles In Gille Park During Nor'Easter

Chief also asks that residents check on vulnerable people who may need help.


LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Lacey residents who live in low-lying areas of the township are welcome to park their vehicles at Gille Park during the expected Nor'easter, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

"All affected residents that wish to park their vehicles in Gille Park should park in the middle parking lot, adjacent to the playground and basketball court," the chief said. "Please ensure that your vehicle is locked."

DiBella also asked that residents check on any vulnerable neighbors and if help is needed to notify police.

Rain - the beginning of a major storm - had already begun falling on Thursday night. The worst will come on Friday, with heavy rain of one to two inches expected. Winds will switch to the northwest and ramp up to 25 to 35 miles per hour, with gusts of 50 to 60 miles per hour before the storm winds down late Friday night and Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Expect downed trees and power lines due to the saturated round. Minor to locally moderate coastal floodin is expected on the New Jersey coast durin high tide on Friday and moderate to major flooding is possible on Saturday, the NWS says.
