Lemonade Fundraiser Supports Lacey Food Bank, Popcorn Park Zoo

LACEY, NJ — Nick DeBenedetto was back behind his lemonade stand at Lacey Day to help support the Lacey Food Bank and Popcorn Park Shelter.

In one afternoon, DeBenedetto raised $600 that he divided among the two organizations.

The Lidl in Lanoka Harbor also pitched in by donating the lemons, peaches and blueberries so Nick could make three kinds of lemonade.

Popcorn Park thanked DeBenedetto for his donation Wednesday on Facebook.

“All of us at AHS/Popcorn Park would like to send a HUGE thank you out to junior humane hero, Nicholas Debendetto Jr.! Nicholas is giving back to his community by holding lemonade stands to raise much-needed funds for worthy causes. He began with the local fire department and EMT squad, now he's focused his efforts on our AHS animals. Nicholas came by to present his check for the $300 he raised and we're all so grateful to this fine young man! Thank you Nicholas!” the post reads.

In May, DeBenedetto was recognized by the township council for his previous lemonade stands that raised $1,170 for first responders in town. Read more: Lacey Praises Work Of Lemonade Stand Volunteers

All of the money raised at his lemonade stand was donated to the Lacey Township Underwater Rescue & Recovery Team, the Lanoka Harbor Fire Department and the Lanoka Harbor EMS.
