Letter: County Utilities Authority Makes Little Effort to Stabilize Rates
Lacey Municipal Utilities Authority has no choice but to pass on the rate increases

The Lacey MUA raised their rates again last night. One of the main reasons: The OCUA (Ocean County Utilities Authority). This public utility has done absolutely NOTHING to stabilize their rates in this horrific economic climate. Year after year I attend Lacey MUA rate hike hearing and the Commissioners all say they have no choice but to pass on the rate increases from the OCUA to Lacey ratepayers.
Some people know this and some don’t. Who is the head honcho at the OCUA you may ask? It is the same person voted out of office in Lacey last year - Mr. John Parker. Go to their website and read all about the OCUA. (www.ocua.com)
The OCUA is out of control. It’s full of patronage jobs and cronies. They might as well rename it the Crony Club of Ocean County. Because that’s what it really is!

So come one, come all to their next public meeting on Tuesday Dec. 20th at 4PM for the caucus and 5PM for the public meeting at their clandestine headquarters 501 Hickory Lane in Bayville. All residents of Ocean County that are hooked up to the Crony Club’s lines should attend.
