Letter: Local Church Hopes to Raise $25,000 for Displaced Lacey Families
The Lacey United Methodist Church is assisting 36 families who are unable to get assistance through FEMA and/denied through their insurance companies

To Whom it May Concern,
We write to you on behalf of the families of Lacey Township who were displaced by Superstorm Sandy. Our Church has been (and continues to be) a shelter for families unable to return to their homes. We have serviced almost 200 homes (free of charge) in removing carpeting, sheetrock and other items which were destroyed in the flooding here. People are trying to rebuild, but some are unable to afford bringing their homes up to the standards of the newly required State codes.
Currently we are putting together a Fund Raising Event to support the 36 families we are working with who are unable to get assistance through FEMA and/or have been denied through their insurance companies. IT is our hopes to raise $25,000 or more. This will be used to purchase furnances, hot-water heaters, baseboard heating, sheetrock, insulation, flooring, appliances and other home necessities. We know $25,000 will not go far - but we are trying to keep realistic goals and will do our best to do the greatest good with what is sent our way.

Here's where you come in.
We are hoping you would sponsor a table centerpiece for $250. The centerpiece should be of a Construction Theme - but also reflect your place of business. You are limited only by your own imagination and creativity. This sponsorship entitles you to 10 buffet tickets to the event.

Individual tickets for the Sandy Relief Construction Ball buffet are being sold for $25 each. When sponsoring a table ($250) you have additional options: 1. Use or distribute the tickets however you wish, 2. Donate the tickets back to LUMC for us to give to displaced families to use. Of cours, this is all totally optional.
If you are not feeling creative or do not wish to sponsor a table censorpiece - you could still help us by donating items to be auctioned off during the Construction Ball.
And, you always have the option of purchasing a single ticket and joining us for a FUN evening of eating and dancing!
The Construction Ball is being held Friday, March 1, 6 p.m. to midnight; and is being hosted by the Captain's Inn, Forked River.
Again, thank you for your kindness and consideration in assisting us with this Community Outreach project. May the rewards and blessings of God be upon you and your business.
Any donation you share is tax deductible and greatly appreciated.
Respectfully submitted,
Reverend Linda Applegate
