Man Assaulted While Sitting On Bench, Fight Busts Car Windshield: Lacey Police Blotter

A fight between two men shattered the rear windshield of a Mercedes-Benz and more, according to the June police blotter.

LACEY, NJ — A man was assaulted while sitting on a bench in a bias crime, two fighting men shattered the rear windshield of a Mercedes-Benz and more in the past month, according to the Lacey Township Police Department.

The June police blotter outlines the variety of incidents that officers responded to throughout the month. Not all incidents are shared due to confidentiality issues related to domestic violence, mental health and juvenile issues.

Incident: CDS Possession
On Monday, June 02, 2025, at 1649 hours, Officer Zacco and Officer Schaffer responded to Kohl's for a reported shoplifting incident. On arrival, contact was made with Frank Britton, 45, of Hammonton, who provided false identifying information and was subsequently arrested. He was found to have heroin wax folds, hypodermic needles, and two credit cards belonging to other people in his possession. Officer Zacco charged Frank with Possession of CDS, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Stolen Credit Cards, and Hindering on a complaint-summons.

Incident: Bench Warrant
On Monday, June 02, 2025, at 2326 hours, Christopher Jones, 37, and Brittany Remmington, 28, of Toms River, arrived at police headquarters to turn themselves in on outstanding No Bail NCIC warrants. Christopher and Brittany were processed and then transported to the Ocean County Jail.

Incident: Bench Warrant
On Wednesday, June 04, 2025, at 2141 hours, Officer Julian placed Cynthia Lopez, 59, of New Brunswick, under arrest for a No Bail NCIC warrant out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department while at police headquarters. Cynthia was ultimately turned over to the Sheriff’s Department.

Incident: Shoplifting
On Wednesday, June 04, 2025, at 1942 hours, Officer Tirella responded to ShopRite for a report of a shoplifting incident that occurred earlier in the day. On arrival, Officer Tirella learned that a female stole lobsters and crab meat. A suspect has been identified in the case and the investigation is ongoing.

Incident: Shoplifting
On Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 1711 hours, Officer Tamburro and Nilon responded to Walmart for a male and female shoplifter in custody. Investigation revealed Anthony Perezdeleion, 20, of Manchester, and Mishel Perez, 18, of Manchester, concealed various items inside of their backpack and attempted to leave the store. Anthony and Mishel were placed under arrest, transported to headquarters, and both were charged on a summons.

Incident: Shoplifting
On Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 1914 hours, Officers Damiel Primavera and Tyler Walsh responded to a report of a shoplifting incident involving an adult female who had left the scene at Wawa. The officers later located Desire Burns, 41, of Manahawkin, who was found to be in possession of the stolen merchandise. Desire was subsequently placed under arrest and released on summons.

Incident: Theft
On Friday, June 6, 2025, at 0930 hours, Officer Tranz charged Daniel Lopes, 66, of Ocean Township, for theft of mislaid property after Daniel took money that was left at a register after a customer finished checking out at Wal-Mart. Daniel was charged on a summons and released.

Incident: Bench Warrant
On June 7, 2025 at 1006 hours Officer Triano responded to Independence Drive near Constitution Drive for a report of a female sleeping in a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, contact was made with Shatisha Shearin, 21, of Newark, slumped over in the front seat. Investigation revealed that Shatisha had an outstanding warrant issued out of Newark. Shatisha was released on her own recognizance before receiving a summons for possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Incident: Criminal Mischief
On Saturday, June 07, 2025, at 2218 hours, Officer Labbate and Officer Copes responded to a resident on Wainwright Street for a report of criminal mischief. On arrival, Officer Labbate spoke with the homeowner, who indicated someone kicked in her front door and then fled the area. The estimated cost of the damage was $1,800.00. Surveillance revealed juveniles running around the area at the time of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.

Incident: Criminal Mischief / Criminal Trespass
On Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 1328 hours, Officer Slota responded to a residence on Beach Boulevard for a report of several juveniles breaking windows at a vacant residence. Upon arrival, the residence was found to be vacant and in poor condition with several windows appearing to be just broken. During this time, several juveniles were located and admitted to going into the unoccupied structure and breaking several windows. The property management company was contacted regarding the residence

Incident: Shoplifting

On Monday, June 09, 2025, at 1900 hours, Officer Swain responded to Walmart for a shoplifter in custody. On arrival, contact was made with Loss Prevention and the offender, Dawn Williams, 48, of Ocean Township. Dawn was found to have concealed merchandise and then attempted to leave the store without paying for them. Dawn was arrested and later released on a summons.

Incident: Simple Assault
On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 15:52 hours, Sergeant Hein and Officer Julian responded to 7-11 for a report of a physical fight. Upon arrival, the parties were separated and the officers met with Derrick Hedberg, 41, of Forked River, and Casey Carroll, 44, of Forked River, who were engaged in a physical altercation just outside the front entrance to the store. Officer Julian spoke with several witness and reviewed surveillance footage before issuing Derrick a special complaint for a violation Simple Assault.

Incident: Shoplifting
On Wednesday, June 11, 20205, at 1255 hrs, Officer Brown made contact with Jessica Breitfeller, 25, of Forked River, and Margaret Breitfeller, 61, of Forked River, after identifying them as shoplifting plants from Shoprite on June 2nd. Jessica and Margaret were each charged with shoplifting and released on a summons.

Incident: Public Urination
On Wednesday, June 11th, 2025, at 1337 hours, Officers Ricciardella and Brown responded to Headquarters for a report of an individual urinating in the front parking lot. Upon arrival, they met with Lance Dimaria, 32, of Forked River, who admitted to urinating next to his vehicle in the front parking lot. As a result, Officer Brown issued Lance a special complaint for Public Urination.

Incident: Shoplifting
On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 1942 hrs, Officer Tirella identified Jean Lee, 55, of Toms River, as a suspect from a shoplifting case that occurred on June 04, 2025 at Shop Rite. Contact was made with Jean, who responded to police headquarters to be processed. On arrival, Jean was arrested and charged with Shoplifting on a complaint-summonses.

Incident: Shoplifting
On Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 1215 hours, Officers Ricciardella and Ravallo responded to Walmart for a report of a female shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, they met with Shadira Jones, 33, of Paterson, who shoplifted miscellaneous clothing. Shadira then provided the officers on scene with false information. Furthermore, it was learned that Shadira was wanted for an NCIC warrant out of Camden County for escape as well as an FTA out of Manchester. Shadira was charged on complaint warrant for Shoplifting, Hindering and, Obstruction.

On Friday, June 13, 2025 at 20:46 hours, Officer Tamburro and Officer Walsh responded to Walmart for a report of a female shoplifter. Upon arrival, Officers met with Asset Protection and the accused, Sherell Rush, 43, of Forked River. Based on the investigation Sherell stole various items and was placed under arrest before being charged with shoplifting on a summons.

Incident: Shoplifting
On Monday, June 16, 2025, at approximately 1300 hrs, Officer Tranz responded to Wal-Mart for a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, contact was made with Kathleen Bocchinfuso, 61, of Forked River. Kathleen was ultimately placed under arrest for attempting to leave the store with merchandise. Kathleen was later processed and released on a summons.

Incident: Dispute - Warrant
On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 06:33 hours, Officer Brown and Officer Ricciardella responded to the Lacey Inn for a disturbance. Officers met with Walter Miller, 38, of Mantua, and his girlfriend, Amber Winant, 31, of Whiting, who indicated though they were arguing and they were not in need of police assistance. An outstanding traffic warrant originating out of Manchester Township was found for Walter who was then placed under arrest. Walter was transported to headquarters where he later posted bail and was released.

Incident: Theft
On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 1248 hrs, Officer Schaffer responded to a residence on East Lacey Road for a theft. Upon arrival Officer Schaffer met with victim, who reported an Apple laptop, valued at $1000, which she ordered and was delivered to her residence via Fedex. She stated a short time later after the delivery an unknown male driving a black SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer, exited the vehicle wearing an Amazon vest. The actor brought a box with him to the doorstep, dropped it off and stole the laptop. This investigation is ongoing.

Incident: DWI
On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 16:22 hours, Officers Holt, Julian, and Fusciello responded to Walmart for a report of a subject who was lying in the parking lot. Upon arrival, the officers met with Douglas Burd, 68, of Forked River, who was visibly intoxicated. Douglas was ultimately placed under arrest for DWI. Douglas was issued summonses for violations of DWI and Reckless Driving.

Incident: MV Stop – Bench Warrant
On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 18:25 hours, Officer Zacco conducted a motor vehicle stop of a 2007 Dodge Durango for expired registration. Upon arrival, he made contact with the driver, Angelica Lanzetti, 36, of Bayville, who had a suspended driver’s license. Additionally, Angelina had an NCIC Warrant out of Atlantic County, as well as an NCIC warrant out of Ocean County. Officer Zacco placed Angelina under arrest and transported her to OCJ without incident. Officer Zacco issued Angelina summonses for Expired Registration, Driving while Suspended, and Uninsured Motorist.

Incident: Shoplifting
On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, Officer Julian and Officer Tirella responded to Wawa for a report of a female and male who had concealed several items and left the store without paying for the items. Investigation led to identifying Jennifer Forcier, 39, of Toms River, and David Bolden, 60, of Toms River. Both were subsequently arrested and charged on summonses for shoplifting.

Incident: DWI
On Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 2215 hours, Officer Julian responded to Route 539 near the Cedar Bridge Fire Tower for an SUV into the woods. While speaking with the driver, Daniel Comier, 30, of Manchester, officers observed signs of being impaired. Officer Julian subsequently placed Daniel under arrest for DWI. Daniel was issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane

Incident: Shoplifting
On Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 1151 hrs, Officer Tranz responded to the Country Farms market for a report of a theft. Upon arrival, the staff advised that a male came in and stole a can of Exotic Nitrous Oxide and left the store. A license plate and surveillance led to the suspect being identified as Eric Singer, 39, of Bayville. Eric was later taken into custody at his residence and released on a summons for shoplifting

Incident: DWI
On Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 20:11 hours, Officer Labbate and Officer Copes responded to Spirits Unlimited for a report of a female sleeping in the driver’s seat. Upon arrival Officers met with the driver, Carolyn Guarracino, 49, of Forked River, who displayed signs of impairment. Based on the investigation Carolyn was placed under arrest for DWI. Carolyn was charged with DWI, Refusal, Reckless Driving and Open Container. Carolyn was found to have an NCIC warrant issued out of Cape May County. As a result she was transported to OCJ pending transfer.

Incident: Bias Crime (Assault)
On Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 0017 hours, several officers, including Officer Swain, responded to the Wawa (444 Route 9 S) for a report of an assault. On arrival, contact was made with the victim, who stated he got off work and was sitting on the bench, near the Rail Trail Bridge (Route 9 S & Parkers Point Blvd). At that time, a white male with brown hair approached him and demanded to know why he was there. The male then proceeded to attack the victim. A physical altercation ensued, which resulted in the victim suffering several facial lacerations and two swollen eyes. After the altercation, the male was noted as fleeing toward the area of Parkers Point Blvd. Investigation led officers to identifying the subject as Eric Campbell, 39, of Forked River. Eric was placed under arrest and charged with Simple Assault and Bias Intimidation on a warrant.

Incident: Counterfeit Money
On Friday, June 27, 2025, at 1912 hours, Officer Tirella and Officer Holt responded to Walmart regarding a female who attempted to pass counterfeit motion picture money to purchase a cell phone. On arrival, Loss Prevention pointed out the female suspect, identified as Lisa Bixby, 60, of Tinton Falls, who was subsequently stopped outside the front entrance. Furthermore, Loss Prevention turned over three (3) $5.00 and one (1) $50.00. The bills were substantially similar to real money, however, they each described themselves as motion picture money. Lisa acknowledged she tried to purchase a cell phone using the bills. Lisa was then arrested and charged on a complaint-summons with Forgery and Counterfeit Marks

Incident: Hindering/Obstruction
On Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 2202 hours, Officer Biel, Officer Julian, and Officer Holt responded to 311 Beach Blvd to serve a male subject with an active traffic warrant. Officers arrived and met with Leah Johnson, 23, of Forked River. During this time, officers were able to observe the male subject through a window, however, Leah was uncooperative and ultimately closed the door on officers, locking it behind her. On Friday, June 27, 2025, Officer Biel prepared Special Complaint summonses, charging Leah with Hindering and Obstruction. Officer Biel and Officer Holt responded to 311 Beach Blvd and served Leah.

Incident: Burglary - Theft
On Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 11:15 hours, Officer McKee met with Thomas Monari, 60, of Lanoka Harbor, at his residence for a report of a stolen cell phone. Thomas indicated that his vehicle, a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, was entered sometime between 1700 and 1710 hours on June 26 while parked in the Walmart parking lot, and his black Samsung Galaxy 523, valued at $1,200, was stolen off his front passenger seat. There were no signs of damage to the vehicle, and nothing else appeared to be missing.

Incident: Simple Assault/Criminal Mischief
On Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 2144 hours, Officer Fusciello responded to the area of Renee Court for a noise complaint. After turning onto Renee Court, Officer Fusciello observed several individuals scattering from the area. He also observed Jonathan Spafford, 20, of Forked River, jump on the rear of a Mercedes-Benz and kick the rear windshield, causing it to shatter. Contact was made with Jonathan and the owner of the vehicle, Abdelrahm Kenawy, 18, of Toms River. Investigation concluded Abdelrahm and Jonathan were arguing, which resulted in Abdelrahm tackling and punching Jonathan. Afterward, Jonathan jumped on the back of the car and shattered the back windshield. Officer Fusciello ultimately issued Abdelrahm with a Special Complaint Summons for Simple Assault and arrested Jonathan for Criminal Mischief. Jonathan was taken to police headquarters and charged on a complaint summons

Incident: Theft
On Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 0007 hours, Officer Fusciello met with Edward Ruiz, 45, of Elwood Street regarding a stolen package. Edward indicated UPS dropped off a Samsung sound bar, valued at $700.00, at approximately 1116 hours on Sunday, June 28, 2025. When he returned home, he noticed the package was missing

Incident: Disorderly Conduct
On Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 0844 hours Officer Christopher Triano responded to 7-11, 524 Lacey Road for a report of a shoplifter that appeared to be under the influence. Officers located the male identified as 44 year-old, Thomas Concannon, 44, of Forked River. Thomas was incoherent, sweating profusely and having difficulty standing. Officer Triano charged Thomas with Use/Being Under the Influence on a summons and was checked out by medical personnel.

Incident: MV Stop - Arrest
On Monday, June 30, 2025, Officer Walsh was on his way to work and conducted a motor vehicle stop on Chrysler Pacifica for failing to maintain its lane of travel. Subsequent contact was made with Tural Asgarov, 41, of Austin, TX. Tural was found to be driving with a suspended registration and the vehicle was unregistered. Investigation ultimately led officers to locating a crack pipe within the vehicle. Tural was placed under arrest and later released on a summons after being served with traffic summonses for unregistered vehicle, failure to maintain lane, and suspended registration
