Meet First Responders At Popcorn Park Zoo's Safety Day

First responders will be on hand Saturday at Popcorn Park Zoo to meet and greet, answer questions, and display their vehicles and equipment.

LACEY, NJ — The Popcorn Park Zoo will be hosting Safety Day on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

First responders will be on hand to meet and greet, answer questions, and also display their vehicles and equipment. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office announced that the park will be re-dedicating their turtle enclosure in memory of New Jersey State Trooper Marc Castellano, who was struck and killed while on duty in 2010.

Trooper Castellano’s death prompted New Jersey to adopt the Move Over Law which requires drivers to safely move from the right lane and slow down when an emergency vehicle is on the shoulder of the roadway.

All proceeds will benefit the animals at Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park Animal Refuge.
