Police Address Bamber Lake Concerns As Fire Rages On
Heavy smoke can be expected in the Bamber Lake area, according to Lacey police.

LACEY, NJ — Residents in the Bamber Lake section of Lacey are not under any elevated threat due to the ongoing 12,000-acre wildfire burning, local authorities said.
The New Jersey Forest Fire Service's helicopter observations combined with patrols on the ground confirmed there "is not elevated threat to Bamber Lake," Lacey police said Wednesday afternoon.
However, residents will likely experience heavy smoke throughout the day. There is no intention for evacuations to be ordered in the region.

Most of Lacey still remains without power Wednesday. JCP&L said power should be restored throughout the town by 4 p.m.
JCP&L cut power to an estimated 25,000 homes in Barnegat, Waretown, Lacey and Berkeley Tuesday night in order to keep firefighters safe as they tackled the growing Jones Road Wildfire.
