North Jersey ATV Driver Killed In Crash In Lacey Woods

Driver Alvero Taveres, 32, lost control of his vehicle in woods, police say

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - A North Jersey man died Sunday afternoon when he lost control of his ATV on a dirt road and crashed into the woods west of the Garden State Parkway and south of Lacey Road, Sgt. Robert Flynn said.

Alvero Taveres, 32, Passaic, was riding east along the road when he lost control of his ATV on Sunday, along the power lines in the area, and suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by MONOC paramedics despite extensive efforts to save his life, Flynn said.

Flynn and Detective Adam Ewart of the Lacey Township Fatal Accident Support Team
are investigating the crash. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI
Unit, MONOC Paramedics, Lacey Township Emergency Medical Services, and the Ocean County Medical
Examiner also assisted.
