A Bronx, N.Y. woman was arrested by Lacey police after attempting to withdraw money from an account that allegedly did not belong to her from a township bank.
Officers went to the Lacey Road Chase Bank branch on Saturday after a woman, eventually identified as Faye Angel Singleton, 54, of Yates Avenue, attempted to withdraw $4,480.75 from an account but could not answer basic security questions about the account, according to police.
Additionally, police said, bank personnel detected that Singleton attempted to withdraw money earlier in the day from a Chase Bank branch in Toms River.
Singleton was denied the funds and left the bank on foot, but was soon located by police. She was ultimately charged with uttering a forged document, criminal attempt, theft by deception, and exhibiting a false government document.
