Mask-Wearing Thief From Forked River Caught After Early Morning Police Chase
Ryan Dautorio, 35, was seen running across a Holmdel road at 3:30 a.m. with a bandana on his face and a trash bag of stolen items: cops.
HOLMDEL, NJ — A Forked River man faces multiple charges after being caught in an early morning police chase, according to Holmdel police.
Ryan Dautorio, 35, of Forked River, was charged with burglary, theft, trespassing, resisting arrest and criminal mischief, according to police.
Dautorio was first spotted running across Route 520 around 3:30 a.m. by a Holmdel officer on routine patrol.

He was carrying a garbage bag and was dressed in all black clothing with gloves and a bandana over his face, police said.
After Dautorio was spotted, a police chase ensued on foot as he ran to the back of businesses along Route 520, police said. Officers determined he had burglarized the Village Exxon.

During the chase, police recovered the garbage bag Dautorio was holding, along with proceeds from the burglary.
Around 7:30 a.m., another Holmdel officer found Dautorio on the Vonage property at 23 Main Street. After trying to stop Dautorio, police said another foot chase ensued.
Around 8 a.m., Holmdel Police posted that officers were conducting an investigation in the area of Route 520 and Holmdel Road, though there was no threat to the community.
Once Dautorio was apprehended, police said he was processed and turned over to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution.
