Police answered 135 calls for service durin the storm for downed wires, fallen trees and a man who crashed into the entrance of 7-Eleven

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Lacey police were kept very busy during the recent Nor'easter when they received roughly 135 calls for service from residents in Forked River, Lanoka Harbor, and Bamber Lakes, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

The majority of the calls dealt with downed wires and fallen trees. But on March 22, Officers Scott Anderson and Adam Ewart responded to the 7-Eleven at 11:58 a.m. on a report of a motor vehicle accident.

There they discovered that an elderly man had hit the gas pedal instead of braking and crashed into the entrance of the store. There were no injuries, but the accident is under investigation, DiBella said.
