Stolen Car Recovered In Lacey: Police Blotter

LACEY, NJ — Drunken drivers, a stolen car and more were reported during February, according to the latest Lacey police blotter.

Each month, the Lacey Township Police Department releases their blotter, outlining the incidents responded to.

Note that all charges are merely accusations and those charged are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Incident: MVA, DWI-blood draw
On Sunday, February 02, 2025, at 2354 hours, several officers, including Officer Hyle, responded to Route 9 and Oak St for a vehicle that struck a tree. On arrival, contact was made with the driver and sole occupant, Vincent Boardingham (age 31). The investigation concluded that Vincent crashed his vehicle while intoxicated. Vincent was arrested and issued several summonses, including DWI.

Incident: Disorderly Conduct
On Monday, February 3, 2025, at 17:31 hours, multiple officers, including Officer Hyle responded to Taco Bell for a report of an intoxicated male inside the store causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, the officers met with Michael Petrowski, age 56, of Forked River, who was intoxicated and causing a disturbance in the store. Officer Hyle issued Michael a special complaint for a violation of 2C:33-2, Disorderly Conduct.

Incident: DWI
On Monday, February 03, 2025, at 2235 hours, Officer Holt responded to the area of Lacey Road, west of the Garden State Parkway, after Berkeley Township Police contacted this agency regarding a possible intoxicated driver entering Lacey Township. The vehicle was subsequently located near Lacey Road and Spaulding Avenue, and a motor vehicle stop was initiated. The driver, John Brown (age 62), of Lanoka Harbor, was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested for DWI. John was transported to police headquarters where he was issued summonses for DWI and Reckless Driving, John was released.

Incident: Urinating in Public
On Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 13:22 hours, Officer Triano responded to the area of Route 9 and Sunrise to assist Captain Sullivan who observed a male subject, later identified as Brett Konigsford, age 59, of Toms River, urinating in the middle of the intersection. Officer Triano issued Brett a special complaint for Urinating in Public. .

Incident: Shoplifting
On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 1744 hours, Officer Morrone, responded to Walmart for a male shoplifter who left the store and would not stop for loss prevention. Officer Walsh located the male Matthew Buffa at the bus stop across from Walmart. Matthew admitted to stealing various items totaling $62.71, along with a shopping cart that he took to sit on. Officer Morrone placed Matthew under arrest, transported him to headquarters, and charged him on a summons for shoplifting.

Incident: MV Stop / Warrant arrest
On Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 1641 hours, Officer Spina observed Courtney Stenstrom, whom he knew to have an active NCIC warrant, traveling in the passenger seat of her vehicle, a 2015 Black Honda Civic. Officer Spina then conducted a random inquiry on his MDT which confirmed the NCIC warrant. Officer Spina conducted a motor vehicle stop on Windsor Street, and Courtney was arrested for the outstanding NCIC warrant out of Camden County. Officer Spina transported Courtney to the Ocean County Jail.

Incident: DWI/ Motor Vehicle Crash
On Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 17:55 hours, several Officers including Officer Swain responded to North Main Street and Lacey Road for a report of a three-car motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, Officers met with the drivers including the offender, 82-year-old, William Starrett of Lanoka Harbor. The investigation revealed that William struck a vehicle in front of him, placed his vehicle in reverse, and struck another vehicle behind him. No injuries were reported. Investigation at the scene revealed William was operating his vehicle under the influence and was arrested for DWI. William was issued summonses and released.
Incident: Warrant Arrest
On Sunday February 9, 2025 at 17:13 hours, Officers Julian and Plis responded to Alpine Street for a report that Brooke Matthews, age 26, of Barnegat, was at the residence, and that she had an active warrant for her arrest. Upon arrival, the officers located Brooke and confirmed that she had an active NCIC warrant out of Ocean County. Brooke was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters where she was later transported to OCJ by Ocean County Sheriff's Office Personnel.

Incident: Warrant Arrest/Possession of CDS
On Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 17:13 hours, while at a residence on Alpine Street, Officers Julian and Plis located Vincente Scalzo, age 37, of Whiting. Vincente was found to have an active no-bail NCIC warrant out of Atlantic County and placed under arrest. During a search incident to arrest, the officers located several wax folds and baggies in his jacket. As a result, Vincente was transported to headquarters where he was charged with Possession of CDS, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia on a warrant. Vincente was transported to Ocean County Jail.

Incident: MV Stop Warrant Arrest
On Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 2108 hours, Officer Tirella conducted a motor vehicle stop for failure to observe traffic signal. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Anthong Bomar Jr.,41, of Forked River. Anthong was determined to have a suspended driver's license and a $1,000.00 warrant out of Woodbridge Township. Anthong was arrested and indicated he could not post bail. Officer Tirella subsequently met up with the Woodbridge Township Police Department where custody of Anthony was turned over to them.

Incident: Shoplifting
On Friday, February 14, 2025, at 18:09 hours, Officer Walsh and Officer Triano responded to Walmart for a report of a female shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, Officers met with Loss Prevention and the suspect, 51-year-old, Melodie Modrzecki, of Waretown. Based on the investigation Melody was placed under arrest for stealing $37 worth of merchandise. Melody was transported to headquarters where she was processed and served with a summons for shoplifting.

Incident: Shoplifting
On Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 20:22 hours, Officer Tamburro and Officer D'Antonio responded to Walmart for a report of a female shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, Officers met with Loss Prevention and the suspect, 59-year-old, Lori Linke of Toms River. The investigation revealed that Lori stole $137 worth of merchandise. Lori was placed under arrest, transported to headquarters where she was charged on a warrant for shoplifting, and transported to OCJ.

Incident: MV Stop / Hindering / Obstruction
On February 16, 2025, at 1335 hours, Officer Spina conducted a traffic stop on Lacey Road near Argos Farms on a gray Jeep Compass. Officer Spina found that the NJ registration displayed on the Jeep belonged to a Dodge Ram. The driver provided false credentials and claimed to be another person.,. Officer Spina, after investigation, determined the driver to be Zachary Gray, 30, of Bamber Lake. It was also learned that Zachary was wanted for multiple outstanding warrants out of South Toms River. Officer Spina completed a Complaint Warrant for falsely incriminating another, Impersonation; Theft of identity, Hindering, and Disorderly Conduct. Z. Gray later turned himself in and was transported to Ocean County Jail

Incident: Shoplifting
On Friday, February 21, 2025, at approximately 1714 hours, Officer Triano responded to Wal-Mart for a report of a male shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, contact was made with the accused, Stephen Geribo, age 53. Chris reported that Stephen concealed a jacket and a toy before attempting to leave the store with same. Stephen was placed under arrest and later released on a summons.

DWI
On Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 02:18 hours, Officer Lepeshko conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2016 Ford Edge for failure to maintain lane. Officer Lepeshko met with the driver, 41 year old, Amie Halat of Forked River, who displayed signs of alcohol impairment. Based on the investigation Amie was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters where she was issued summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. She was released to her step-father.

Incident: MVA-Road Rage
On Tuesday, February 25th, 2025 at 1627 hours, Officer Zacco responded to Route 9 and First Street for a report of a two-car motor vehicle crash where the drivers were involved in a dispute. Upon arrival, Officer Zacco spoke to Robert Nunnery, age 84, of Forked River and Anthony Trenchi, age 29, also of Forked River. Officer Zacco learned that the two drivers were involved in a road rage incident resulting in a collision. Neither party was injured as a result of the collision, however, the incident culminated with Anthony exiting his vehicle and advancing toward Robert in the parking lot of Lacey Liquors. Fearing for his safety, Robert proceeded to utilize his Mace, which he legally possessed, striking Anthony in the shoulder, and not resulting in any injury or pain.

On Thursday, February 27th Anthony Trenchi responded to headquarters where he was arrested and charged with violations of Receiving Stolen Motor Vehicle, Simple Assault, and Disorderly Conduct on complaint summons, resulting from a road rage incident on February 25th, 2025. Anthony was processed and released without incident.

On Friday, February 28th Officer Zacco served Robert Nunnery with a complaint summons, for Simple Assault, resulting from a road rage incident on February 25th, 2025.

Incident: Stolen Vehicle Recovered
On Thursday, February 27th, 2025, at approximately 16:45 hours, Officer Julian was on a motor vehicle stop when he observed a white Dodge Challenger dragging a bumper on Lacey Road. Dispatch then received a call regarding an erratic driver, operating a white Dodge Challenger which was just involved in a motor vehicle accident in the Home Depot parking lot. The vehicle, a 2021 White Dodge Challenger, was located in the front yard of a residence on Hoffman Avenue with significant rear-end damage. The car was determined to be stolen out of Galloway Township, on February 26. The vehicle was secured and impounded. Officer Hyle prepared a complaint warrant, charging Matheu Moan, 19, of Toms River, with Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, as well as motor vehicle summonses for Unlicensed, Leaving the Scene, Failure to Report, Careless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. In addition, Randi Steidle, 24, Toms River, was charged with Joyriding, on complaint summons. Matheu Moan was discharged from the hospital and returned to police headquarters where he was fingerprinted and photographed. Once finished, Officer Hyle transported Matteu to the Ocean County Jail without incident.

Incident: Criminal Attempt- Possession of CDS
On Friday, February 28th, 2025 at hours, multiple officers, including Officer Zacco responded to Tre Chic, for a report of a male pulling on car door handles. Upon arrival, the officers discovered Vasilio Koutsogiannis, age 48, in the parking lot. Multiple witnesses confirmed that Vasilio attempted to gain entry into multiple vehicles and he was placed under arrest. Officers located a vile of Testosterone in his possession which Vasillo admitted he bought on-line. As a result he was charged with Possession of CDS and Criminal Attempt on a complaint warrant and transported to OCJ without incident.
