NJ Woman Found Near Trail Died Of Natural Causes: Prosecutor
A woman who was found dead in the woods over the summer in Waretown died of natural causes, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.
WARETOWN, NJ — A woman who was found dead in the woods in Waretown this summer died of natural causes, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said Tuesday.
The body of Megan Campana, 42, of Seaside Heights, was found along the Barnegat Branch Trail near County Line Road on June 4, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Ocean Township Police Chief Michael Rogalski said in a joint statement.
Campana’s body was found after a resident reported seeing an unresponsive woman on the ground and called 911. The cause and manner of death were pending toxicology results.

On Monday, the Ocean County Medical Examiner released the results of a forensic toxicology report issued in connection with the post-mortem examination performed on Campana.
The Medical Examiner ruled the manner of death to be from natural causes, Billhimer said.
