Man Found Dead In Trunk In Ocean County Had Been Reported Missing From Manchester

LAKEWOOD, NJ — A Manchester Township man who had been reported missing in early February has been identified as the man whose body was found in a trunk in Lakewood on Wednesday.

David Koscuik, 57, was found in the trunk of a vehicle on Fairway Court in Lakewood when authorities responded to a report of an unconscious man in a trunk, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said Friday.

Billhimer said there is no known danger to the public, but has not released further details as authorities continue their investigation.

Manchester Township police on Feb. 16 posted a request for help in finding Koscuik on the department's Facebook page, saying he had been last seen on Feb. 8 in Brooklyn, New York.

He had been wearing a black Steelers sweatshirt when he was last seen, and was driving a gray 2017 Chevrolet Malibu, Manchester police said.

Billhimer told Patch the car where Koscuik was found was his Chevy Malibu.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, the Lakewood Township Police Department, the Manchester Township Police Department, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit are investigating.
