Kitchen Argument Ends With Meat Cleaver Threat, Lakewood Police Say
A Jackson man was arrested after making the threat, police said.
LAKEWOOD, NJ — A Jackson Township man has been arrested after he threatened a fellow restaurant employee with a meat cleaver during an argument in the kitchen on Christmas, Lakewood police said.
Qing Zheng was arrested at his home in Jackson, Lakewood police said.
Lakewood police were called to the restaurant, which was not identified, about 2:35 p.m. The victim told officers there had been an argument in the kitchen that escalated and during the argument, Zheng grabbed a meat cleaver and threatened the victim, police said.

The victim was not injured, police said.
Zheng was identified and arrested, then charged on a complaint warrant with simple assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and terroristic threats, police said.

Lakewood police said he was taken to the Ocean County Jail, but as of 5 p.m. on Friday he was not listed on the inmate roster.
