Ocean County Dad Drowns Rescuing His Child At Delaware Water Gap: Reports

The man was vacationing in the Poconos with his family, a report said.

BUSHKILL, PA — A 39-year-old Ocean County man has died after going into the water to rescue his child at the Delaware National Water Gap, according to reports.

The man was identified as Baruch Ber Ziemba by the Lakewood Scoop, which reported he had been vacationing with his wife and seven children in the Poconos when the incident happened on Monday. That report said he went into the water to rescue his child but did not provide further details.

The man's body was seen 20 to 30 feet from shore at the Delaware Water Gap National Rescue Area in Bushkill, Pennsylvania, the Daily Voice reported. He was recovered shortly after 3 p.m., the report said.
