Man Accused Of Setting Fire At Lakewood Apartment
The man is accused of lighting a liquid on fire; the blaze spread to clothing and an air conditioner, authorities said.
LAKEWOOD, NJ — A Lakewood man is accused of deliberately setting a fire at an apartment on Thursday afternoon, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said Friday.
Tysan Davis, 36, has been charged with aggravated arson in connection with a fire at the Fairway Villas, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
The fire was reported about 4:45 p.m. Thursday, authorities said. Lakewood police and firefighters found a pile of clothing smoldering and an air conditioner condenser on fire and quickly put the fire out, authorities said.

Investigators found the fire originated at the southwest corner of the concrete patio of the residence and had been caused by someone using a flame to ignite an unspecified liquid, the prosecutor's office said.
The prosecutor's office did not say how much damage was caused or whether the flames spread to the building or were contained outside.

Investigators identified Davis as the person who set the fire and he was arrested, the prosecutor's office said. He is being held at the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
