Man Hit By Car, Killed, After Dumping Alcohol Following Route 70 Crash
Lakewood police said a witness saw the man get out of his own wrecked car and dump alcohol; he was hit returning to his car, they said.
LAKEWOOD, NJ — A Lakewood man was hit by a car on Route 70 and killed early Saturday as he returned to his car after dumping alcoholic beverages in the wake of crashing his own car, Lakewood police said Monday.
Yosimar Quirozcisneros, 23, was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries shortly after he arrived, Lakewood Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said.
Staffordsmith said investigators believe the chain of events on Route 70 west near Vermont Avenue began just after 1 a.m. when Quirozcisneros lost control and his 2006 Mazda crashed and rolled over.

A witness told investigators of seeing Quirozcisneros get out of the Mazda and carry beverages to the side of the road and dump them, Staffordsmith said. Authorities later determined they were alcoholic beverages, he said.
As Quirozcisneros returned to his car at about 1:10 a.m. he was hit by a 2003 Lexus driven by a 21-year-old Hillsborough man, Staffordsmith said. Quirozcisneros suffered serious injuries, he said.

A passenger in the Lexus also sustained a non-life-threatening injury to her head and a broken wrist.
The investigation is continuing, Staffordsmith said. No summonses have been issued at this time.
