Man's Body Found In Vehicle Trunk In Ocean County

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said Lakewood and Manchester police, the prosecutor's office and sheriff's office are investigating.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in the trunk of a vehicle in Lakewood on Wednesday, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said Thursday.

Lakewood police were called at 12:13 p.m. about an unconscious man in the trunk of a vehicle on Fairview Court, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

The prosecutor's office did not release any identifying details about the man.

"This remains an active and ongoing investigation. There is no known danger to the public, and additional information will be released when it becomes available," Billhimer stated.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Lakewood Township Police Department, Manchester Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit are investigating, the prosecutor's office said.
