New Hampshire Avenue Closed As Crash Brings Down Wires

A salt-spreading truck hit the pole and broke it, according to a report.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — Authorities are urging motorists to avoid New Hampshire Avenue Monday morning after a truck hit a utility pole, breaking the pole and bringing down wires.

Lakewood police said the crash happened on New Hampshire between Cedar Bridge Avenue and Pine Street.

The Lakewood Scoop tweeted photos of what appears to be a salt-spreading truck off the road and the broken utility pole.

New Hampshire Avenue is partially closed between Pine and Cedar Bridge, and that is causing backups on New Hampshire between Route 88 and Cedar Bridge, on Cedar Bridge Avenue in both directions, and on other nearby roads.

Additional details on the crash were not immediately available.
