Tractor-Trailer Hits Traffic Signal On Route 9 In Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, NJ — A tractor-trailer was caught on video Monday morning as it hit a traffic signal on Route 9 and kept going.

The video, posted to Twitter by Lakewood News Network, shows the signal drag across the top of the trailer and swing free as the truck continues on its way.

Lakewood Police Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said it was having a slight impact on traffic in the area of Route 9 and Central Avenue but that the issue was expected to resolve "shortly," he said in an email just before 10 a.m.
