2 Shot, 1 Killed In Confrontation Between Groups, Mercer County Police Say

The incident took place on Monday night in Mercer County, authorities said.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ – One person was killed and another injured in an overnight shooting that took place following a confrontation in Trenton on Monday, authorities said.

Around 11:51 p.m. on Monday, Trenton police were dispatched to the 600 block of North Clinton Avenue on multiple reports of shots fired.

Two men with gunshot wounds were found at the scene, County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey said.

Both were taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where Shalynn Richardson, 43, was pronounced dead a short time later, Marbrey said.

According to preliminary investigation, the shooting took place after a confrontation between two groups in the area of Covert Alley.
