80-Year-Old Virginia Woman Killed In Mercer County Crash

The woman was trapped inside the car after it crashed into a utility pole, police said.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ – An 80-year-old woman from Virginia was killed in a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Oct. 4 in Robbinsville, police said.

Around 12:15 p.m., police dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting a vehicle collision with a utility pole on Route 130 southbound near Church Street, with the driver trapped inside.

The vehicle, a 2018 Nissan Altima, was operated by Ann Barnes of Stony Creek, Virginia. Barnes was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, where she was pronounced dead.

The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office Serious Collision Response Team and the Robbinsville Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit are conducting the investigation.
