It’s been a busy few weeks for softball and baseball teams of Lawrence. Here’s just a little of what’s been going on in the Lawrence Little League

Girls District 12 Majors Softball

Eco Evolutions faced Florence on April 15.  The girls of Eco Evolutions not only played great, but they showed exceptional sportsmanship!  Great infield defensive plays were made by Katie Ossowski on short stop, Zoe Lange on Third, while Brianna S. provided solid outfield coverage.  The girls cheered their teammates on!

Three days later the squad faced Robbinsville. The girls of Eco Evolutions played a fine game on our home field!  Anna Mickley provided solid pitching while Meghan Kiernan on 1st base and Emma Denarski’s fielding  provided solid defense.

Dicks Sporting Goods faced Borden Pearlman on April 15.

Dick’s Sporting Goods worked together to field many great plays. Alan C. had two putouts in the last inning of the game including the last out. Borden Pearlman had some great hitting. Nick M. made a great pop up that sent the other team scrabbling for the ball.

Dick’s Sporting Goods faced Miele on April 22

The Miele team worked together to make some great plays.  Dhruv M.  showed good hustle on the field.

Dick’s Sporting Goods had some amazing fielding getting a number of outs.  Robert K. hit a double sending two of his team mates home.

New England Baseball

Boomerang 3

Doherty Painting defeated Boomerang Dining in a hard fought pitcher’s duel. Ameer Hasan collected seven strikeouts in three innings of work surrendering only one run.  Shea McGuire then came in and pitched effectively for two innings before handing it off to Garrett Maloney who closed out the game with two strikeouts in a hitless 6th inning.

The score was tied at three going into the last inning when Shea McGuire beat out an infield hit.  Two outs later, Ryan Kaelblein plated the go ahead run with a single to right.  Joey Hiner knocked his second hit of the day before Ryan Monaghan drove in the final two runs with a hard smash to left.

The Boomerang offense scored three runs on five hits by Ean Dauer, Justin Wolf, Aidan Jodoin, Tommy Sarsfield and Ben Cohen.  The story for Boomerang, however, was their pitching.  Stephen Kop struck out five in two innings and Trevor Dlecampe proved to be unhittable again.  He struck out nine of the eleven batters he faced while walking the other two.  Ean Dauer notched two more strikeouts in his inning of work.  All told, the Boomerang staff tallied a total of sixteen strikeouts in six innings.

Southeast Region Baseball

Destribats Campbell Law  10

Legion Post 458  9

For Destribats Campell Law, Nabeel Hasan pitched 3 strong innings allowing one earned run and striking out 7 while Alex Pasquale and Katie Ciuffreda pitched an inning each. Hasan anbd Pasquale also combined for 5 hits at the plate while Jonah Phillips and Ryan Anderson each contributed with key hits.  James Kildea and Nate Duff each scored two runs to help secure the Destribats Campbell win.

For Legion Post 458, Seth Liebowitz had three hits – including two doubles.  Seth and Neo Maralit each scored twice as the Legion post 458 scored late and often during a rally that fell just short.

MidAtlantic Baseball

Captain Paul’s 9

Candela’s 4

Captain Paul's improved to 2-1-1 as they took the MidAtlantic Division Saturday  Night  Game of the Week by a 9-4 score over Candela's.  Max Crouthamel led Captain Paul's with a dominant 4 innings on the mound while Jared Vinch led the offense with a key double and 2 RBI's. 

Will Kocsis pitched very well for Candela's and led their offense with a couple hits including a triple to the fence.  John Weaver also made an incredible catch on the mound on a line drive comebacker  hit by Roshan Aiyar.
