Ben Franklin Students Take Part in Food Drive

Over 300 items were collected for the Mount Carmel Guild of Trenton.

Students at Lawrence Township’s Ben Franklin Elementary School last month took part in a food drive to benefit the Mount Carmel Guild of Trenton. 

The school's philosophy is to take care of another – specifically "take care of ourselves, each other, the school, and the environment."

Principal Mr. Chris Turnbull led the school in carrying out this mission by participatin in the Oct. 21 food drive.

Over 300 items were collected for the Mount Carmel Guild, a non-profit organization that provides services to children, seniors, and those living in impoverished areas throughout Mercer County.

The organization – which receives funding from grants, the United Way, pharmaceutical companies and private donations – provides a “helping hand” to families needing assistance during these difficult economic times.

Ben Franklin student doing their part and lent their "helping hands" to load the donated food into a van headed to the Mount Carmel Guild.
